Why resize an image

Platforms and layouts expect specific dimensions, and an oversized image wastes bandwidth while an undersized one looks blurry when stretched. Resizing sets the exact width and height you need, whether that is a 1080-pixel social post, a 150-pixel avatar, or a banner that fits a template. It also shrinks file size, which speeds up uploads and page loads.

Aspect ratio and distortion

Locking the aspect ratio keeps the original proportions, so changing the width updates the height automatically and the picture never looks squashed. Scaling up versus down
